π± GENERAL RULES π±
#1 Be Polite: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Toxicity, harassment, rudeness, flaming, passive aggression, bragging, bashing, slander, minimodding, and baiting are not tolerated here.
Baiting is when someone attempts to attract sympathy or aggression of others via passive aggressive or negative statements about oneself/others.
Minimodding is when someone tells a member they broke a rule or try to handle a rulebreak by themselves. This can create problems for all parties. If you see a member break a rule, please report it to a staff member and they will handle it right away.
Bragging is when a member brags about how their character abilities could completely destroy another or how great their abilities are publicly. It is good to plot and talk about stories, but it becomes bragging when someone tries to make others feel inferior or put them down by doing so. Everyone has their own level of creativity and it can be a hindrance on their enjoyment of the site if they believe they cannot compare to others.
Bashing, slander, toxicity, rudeness, flaming, and passive aggression are self-explanatory. If you ever have any questions about the rules or a ruling, please message a staff member.
#2 Be Appropriate: Blue Abyss is PG-13 as per the Proboards Terms of Service. Explicit, mature, or adult content is not allowed in messages, roleplay posts, bios, applications, or on the Discord server. Avatars and posted images must be PG-13, nonsuggestive, and without nudity or implied nudity. If Oda wouldn't write it in One Piece, it shouldn't be written on here.
#3 No Spamming: Advertisements must be posted in the Advertisement board. Spam includes chain messages, advertising PMs, double posting, posting IC in OOC areas and OOC chatter in IC areas, or posting in the wrong section. Please be mindful of what and where you are posting.
#4 No Theft: You may not steal someone else's writing, artwork, graphics, etc. and claim that you made them. Always have permission and give credit when applicable if using someone else's work.
#5 Account Per Character Preferred: This site is account per character. When making a new character, please create a new subaccount. There is no limit to the amount of characters you may make and roleplay here. You may also have a OOC account if you wish.
#6 Profile Picture Sizes: The large avatar image is 300x200px and is listed under 'Big Avatar' in the "Personal" area of your profile editor. The smaller profile avatar is 150x150. Please keep signatures of a reasonable width and height so that they do not stretch the board.
#7 Minimum Word Count: The minimum wordcount for roleplay posts is 50 words for non-Adventures, and 100 words for Adventures.
π± IN CHARACTER RULES π±
#1 No Powerplaying & Autohitting: Powerplaying is when you control another player's character without their permission. Autohitting is when you hit/injure/kill another player's character without their permission or giving them a chance to dodge. To avoid this, use the words 'aim' or 'attempt' when trying to land a hit. "Tak attempted to punch Heero in the face."
#2 No Metagaming: Metagaming is applying OOC (Out of Character) knowledge IC (In Character). This is when your character gets knowledge of information from private threads or other instances where they would not have realistically been able to get. This also includes having OOC knowledge about things, such as plotting or OOC battle plans that have not happened ICly. To avoid this, please ask for permission before using such information and create an IC means to obtain the information.
#3 No Godmoding: Godmoding is when you play your character as invincible; all your attacks seem to hit, while all the opponent's attacks miss their mark. Attempting to be omnipotent, solving every problem, and not allowing your character to be hurt when they realistically should does not make for fun roleplay with others. Avoid this.
#4 No Player Killing: Character deaths are when a player gives permission to another player for their character to be killed off. Harassing, forcing, or nagging a member to allow their character to be killed, however, is against the rules. If a character loses a battle they go unconscious by default.
#5 This Is a Plot-Based Site: The point of this forum is to roleplay, form stories, and create character concepts. You may make a weak or strong build if it enhances the plots you have in mind. However, this is not a site meant for racing to the top to try and kill or beat other characters.
If you feel as though there is a member breaking any of these rules please contact a member of staff privately.
π± Canon Differences π±
Difference #1: Gold Roger was king of the pirates, but his crew was different to allow for some of them to still be around.
Difference #2: Artificial Devil Fruits have been perfected in the past and have circulated for a long enough time to crop up anywhere, allowing for the most player freedom.
Difference #3: The Marines have more positions for Admirals, Vice Admirals, etc. to allow for more player freedom, and Fleet Admirals are considered the highest rank/an honorary rank so more than one character may hold it.
Difference #4: The number of warlords isnβt limited, neither are the emperors.
Difference #5: All Canon characters aside from Roger donβt exist, if enough players want it, IM may exist.
